Business Validation

Entrepreneurs generally go through the following process in planning their businesses:
1. Validate the Market
2. Build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP)
3. Launch
4. Acquire Users
5. Collect Data/Feedback
6. Pivot & Repeat
Despite a seemingly structured approach ,why then do only some businesses succeed ? Facilitators will give an overview of practical ways of validating your business idea, your market, price points and everything that you need to be sure of giving yourself the best chance of success. For example in examining your value proposition, groups will consider: Who is the customer? Whether the proposition saves time or money? Does it relieve pain? , And does it make money consistently for the business. There will be examples of businesses that tweaked or sometimes drastically changed their business strategy, to create sustainable competitive advantage. Sessions will be conducted in ‘workshop mode’ allowing attendees to work on their own business ideas and plans thru structured templates. A set of experienced mentors shall be on hand to support groups. The journey will begin with fundamentals - what strategy is, and how to evaluate it. The next step is to challenge the current strategy’s potential elusive goal – the long-term sustainable advantage, and introduce a dynamic model of strategy that allows for each entrepreneur to be grounded and better suited for the competitive realities that they face. Our belief is that strategy is the bedrock crucial to every company. No matter how hard you and your people work, no matter how wonderful your culture, no matter how good your products, or how noble your motives, if you didn’t get your strategy right, everything else you do is at risk. The success of this workshop will also depend on the courage and openness with which participants begin to answer fundamental questions about their companies, and live with those questions day after day.

Design Thinking

Design thinking is a method for practical, creative resolution of problems and creation of solutions. It is a form of solution-based, or solution-focused thinking with the intent of producing a constructive future result. By considering both present and future conditions and parameters of the problem, several alternative solutions may be explored.
Design thinking identifies and investigates with known and ambiguous aspects of the current situation to discover hidden parameters and open alternative paths that may lead to the goal. Because design thinking is iterative, intermediate "solutions" are also potential starting points of alternative paths, including redefining of the initial problem, in a process of co-evolution of problem and solution.

Attend this two-hour session to understand how entrepreneurs and startup founders can use design thinking to create and drive transformational change in their businesses.
